What’s a wick for?
What is a candle without a wick? It’s a colorful lump of wax. A wick acts like a fuel pump that makes a candle stay lit. Wicks are usually made of plain or wax-coated cotton fibers which are braided together. A thin strand of this cotton is imbedded into the wax, which is then held into place with a metal plate that holds the wick from the bottom of the candle.
